Music Teacher – Fixed Term – Part-Time, Maternity Cover
Commencing 22 June 2026
St Mark’s is a co-educational Independent Anglican International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. We are a leader in primary music, known for our outstanding choral, instrumental, and classroom programmes.
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and energetic Music Teacher for a part-time maternity cover position. This role is ideal for an innovative educator who can deliver an engaging classroom music programme that could include a mix of classroom, choral, instrumental and performance music.
- Classroom Music: Deliver an engaging, balanced, and differentiated music programme to students from Year 1 to Year 8.
- Choral & Instrumental Lead: Lead our highly successful choral programme and instrumental ensembles (including Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Rock Band).
- Performance & Events: Provide musical accompaniment for weekly Chapel services, school assemblies, and other school events.
- Program Support: Oversee the popular Itinerant music programme, including visiting teachers and student enrolments.
- Pastoral Care: Maintain high standards of student welfare and support our special Anglican character and core values: Manaakitanga, Achievement, Respect, and Kindness.
Personal Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status with a minimum of a Bachelor of Music.
- Proven experience in leading choirs, and bands.
- A proactive, collaborative attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
- Prior knowledge of IB PYP is not essential, as professional development will be provided.
