Deputy Principal

We are seeking an experienced and exceptional Deputy Principal to join our staff team in Term 1, 2024. Ideally, applicants will be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills. You will have some proven teaching and learning leadership experience and have an ability to work effectively and collaboratively within the senior leadership team. The Deputy Principal has classroom teaching responsibilities as well and should have an empathy for teaching the IB PYP, be supportive of our special character and extra-curricular programmes, have a passion for teaching in a co-educational environment, ability to coach sports teams, and must have strong pastoral care skills. The Deputy Principal will be responsible for school wide organisation, School Health and Safety Emergencies and EOTC. An attractive remuneration package comes with this position.

Scale A Classroom Teachers – Permanent and Fixed Term

We seek talented, highly enthusiastic and inspirational teachers to join our amazing staff team, either in Lower Primary Y1-4 or Upper Primary Y5-8, in Term 1, 2024. We are a co-educational Independent Anglican International Baccalaureate World School teaching the Primary Years Programme (PYP). Applicants with strengths in teaching inquiry, numeracy and literacy, digital technology, physical education, performing arts or science. Applicants should have strong pastoral care skills, a passion for collaboration and teaching in a co-educational environment. You will also be supportive of our special character and being involved in our extra-curricular programmes. Prior knowledge of IB PYP is not required or essential as PD will be provided. We are also looking to appoint a new permanent Head of Sport and PE.

After-school Care and Holiday Programme Director – Part time

We are seeking a part time SMART (St Mark’s After-school Recreation and Tuition) Director to join our staff team from 15 January 2024. Ideally applicants will be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and be highly organised. You will have some proven experience of working with school age children and in managing holiday programmes, abilities with using spreadsheets, able to manage staff, be supportive of our special character, have a passion for working in a co-educational environment and have strong pastoral care skills.

This position is for 20 hours per week (2.00pm – 6.00pm daily) and full time during the school holidays. An attractive remuneration package is attached to this position.

Short Term Relief Teachers

St Mark’s is looking to build its relief teacher register and would love to hear from certificated teachers who would be available to teach on a casual basis within the School.

To apply for a position as a relief teacher, you must be fully qualified as a teacher and hold a current New Zealand practicing certificate, issued by the Teaching Council NZ. You must also have the right to work in New Zealand as a New Zealand citizen or resident, or be the holder of a suitable work visa.
