Scholarships are available at Lower and Upper Primary level, and as long as ākonga continue to meet the expectations of the programme, their scholarship will support them all the way to the end of Year 8.
We love supporting our young learners. The St Mark’s Scholarship Programme is designed to acknowledge ākonga who embody the St Mark’s Values of Manaakitanga, Achievement, Respect and Kindness.
Lower Primary Scholarships (Year 0 through to Year 4)
There are two intakes:
- For those starting school in the second half of 2026, applications for scholarships open on the 1st of February and close on the 31st of May.
- For those starting school in the first half of 2027, scholarships open on 1 August and close on the 30th September 30 2026
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate general excellence in academic achievement, performing arts, and music or a combination of any of these.
Upper Primary (Year 5 to 8)
Applications for 2027 Scholarships open on 1 July and close on 31 August.
Academic Scholarships:
These are available for ākonga who display excellence in academic achievement and have a demonstrated work ethic. Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Evidence of participation in co-curricular activities
Music and Performing Arts:
These are available for ākonga who can demonstrate evidence of excellence in music and/or performing arts and have a demonstrated work ethic.
Application Process
Applicants must:
- Complete the St Mark’s Entrance Scholarship Application Form
- Sign the Information and Declaration form
And provide:
- a copy of their last school report
- one written reference from someone outside of your whānau
- contact details for a second referee for a verbal reference
If shortlisted, they must then attend an interview with the Principal, Mrs Betty Brown.
If successful, you will need to follow the usual enrolment process at St Mark’s.
