Kia ora koutou katoa,

Nau mai haere mai and welcome to St Mark’s. I am delighted you may be considering St Mark’s School for your child’s education.

St Mark’s is a modern and forward-looking Anglican school of around 300 students from Preschool to Year 8 or from 2 years of age to 13 years’ age. St Mark’s was established in 1917 and is a school and preschool that has traditions of the past which meet the modern technologies and teaching pedagogy of today. St Mark’s is a happy place where dedicated, professional teachers encourage our children to do their best in their academic studies, performing arts and sporting passions and to enjoy everything that is on offer. There is a vibrant and supportive whānau atmosphere which emphasises family first. All children are encouraged to be ambitious in their goals, to set these and to work hard to achieve them; however, we make sure there is also plenty of time to play and have fun.

St Mark’s is proudly co-educational and committed to the value and importance of all children, of any gender, learning and working together as they will in their future adult lives. Our children come from many diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, forming a very happy, inclusive and international minded community.

We are an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years Programme and, as such, we promote international awareness in our young people with an emphasis on the skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to participate in an increasingly global society.

I believe our appeal as a school rests in our strong sense of whānau and community, in the values we celebrate, in our commitment to realising the potential of our children, and in providing a balanced education that addresses the academic, social, emotional, physical, musical and spiritual aspects of our childrens’ lives. You will discover we are a school with warmth, with Christian values and integrity which has seen us become one of New Zealand’s most respected schools.

I hope you will visit us at an Explore St Mark’s Open Day or for a personalised tour so that you too can see for yourself why St Mark’s is seen by our whānau as a place of manaakitanga, achievement, respect and kindness.
