Welcome to St Mark's Church School
We are an Anglican independent co-educational school nestled around St Mark's Church, set in the heart of Wellington opposite the Basin Reserve. We provide continuous education from Early Childhood to the end of Primary and welcome children between the ages of two and thirteen from all cultural and religious backgrounds.
The focus of St Mark's Church School, founded in 1917, has always been on quality, innovation and opportunity. These aspects define us and drive our approach, preparing our children for a lifetime of learning.
Quality Education
Our dedicated teachers deliver the curriculum with flair and enthusiasm, a fact borne out by our consistent academic results. We broaden our academic base with considerable involvement in sport and we have a strong pastoral care ethic where values and virtues are nurtured.
Innovation
Subject specialist teachers extend and enhance the learning process. Our specialist programmes include Trinity College Performing Arts in Speech and Drama, the Rutherford 'Gifted & Able' programme, Quest's support programmes and an International Department which provides innovative and highly successful English language programmes.
Opportunity
St Mark's has always been a co-educational school. We cater for the different learning styles of girls and boys to facilitate quality learning. We have high expectations of our children's effort and achievement. In a Christian, multicultural environment we encourage self-discipline, self-motivation, tolerance and care for others.
