St Marks School

We would like to invite you to attend one of our “Explore St Mark’s” Open Day events. These events are for families from Preschool to Year 8. We warmly invite you to register here.

I would also like to encourage you to download our Prospectus via the link on this page, take a tour around our website and visit our social media pages – you will be able to get a sense of what a welcoming and engaging school St Mark’s is.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions you may have.

The Enrolment Process

Once you have made the decision to enrol your child/ren at St Mark’s, we encourage you to start the enrolment process as soon as possible to ensure preferred entry to our School. We aim to provide a smooth and uncomplicated entry into St Mark’s and encourage you to contact our Director of Admissions, Mrs Eleanor Harkness if you have questions or concerns at any stage.

The enrolment process is as follows:

  • Complete an Application for Entry form.  Please see the sidebar to download an Online Application Form.
  • Return the completed Application for Entry form, along with copies of your child’s Birth Certificate or Passport, their latest school report and any other relevant information such as assessments or information regarding learning difficulties.
  • At this stage, a non-refundable Application Fee of NZD$100 is due.
  • On receipt of your application, your child’s name will be placed on the waiting list for the year and term (in case of the Primary School) or the date (Preschool) you have indicated on the Application for Entry form that you wish your child to commence at St Mark’s School.

Please note: Places at St Mark’s School are highly sought after, particularly in Year 7. Application does not necessarily guarantee entry for your child, as applications sometimes exceed the number of places available. In this case, your application will be lodged on the waiting list until a place becomes available.

We strongly encourage early enrolment to avoid disappointment. Applications for enrolment for 2023 and beyond are now open. To make a enquiry, please contact our Director of Admissions, Mrs Eleanor Harkness, at enrol@st-marks.school.nz

When a place becomes available, prior to your child starting St Mark’s, an interview will be arranged with our Principal, Mr Kent Favel. This interview is an opportunity for us to find out more about your child, your expectations around schooling and also is an opportunity for you to ask any further questions you may have about St Mark’s.

Please note: all documentation, including previous school reports and additional information as outlined on the Application for Entry form, as well as the $100 Application Fee, must be received prior to this interview.  Enrolment is conditional on attendance at interview.

A letter of offer will be sent to successful applicants, following the interview.

Once offered a place, we ask that you confirm your acceptance promptly. This is done by returning the additional documentation which you will receive with the letter of offer, and payment of the Enrolment Fee, NZD$450.
