St Mark's After School Recreation and Tuition
St Mark’s Afterschool, Recreation and Tuition is offered to all students from Year 0 –8 from 3:00pm—5:30pm, Monday to Friday. We offer a variety of after-school activities.
We take pride in offering an Out of School Care and Recreation (OSCAR) programme which is approved and monitored by the Ministry of Social Development.
The aim of the SMART Programme is to provide interesting activities and supervised care which caters to the children’s individual ages, gender, interests and cultural backgrounds. The programme prides itself on offering a friendly, caring and relaxed environment where children can enjoy themselves at the end of the school day.
The Health and Safety of all our children is of paramount importance to us.
Junior Care Group
The Care Programme for Juniors caters for pupils from Year 0 to Year 2 and provides opportunities for physical outdoor play, games, crafts, and relaxation.
Our craft activities are designed to have an educational component which reflects what is happening in the school or around the world that week.
The Homework Group
The focus of the Homework Programme is to give Year 3 to Year 8 students 45 minutes of supervised homework time. Students also read books and finish Maths Directed programs. Care assistants help where needed while supervising and encouraging self-directed study and problem-solving.
The Homework children may use their device if it is for homework purposes otherwise they are allowed to use their devices after 5pm on appropriate sites, while supervised.
Once homework time finishes the children are given the option to either play outdoor games or stay inside and enjoy an ever-changing array of arts and crafts.
After roll call, we offer a tasty nutritious and balanced afternoon tea.
The fee structure is as follows:
- Regular placement $20.00 per session
- Casual (less than 24hours notice) $23.00 per session
- Activity only students (after school activities such as Speech and Drama up until 4:30pm) $15.00 per session or if you pick up your child before 4pm
